Montessori Programme
Prepare children for school and life.
At CIT, our Pre-School Academic Programme is drawn from the scientific Montessori model of education. Montessori model is an educational approach developed by Italian physician and educator Maria Montessori model of education. This is a constructivist or ‘discovery’ model, here students learn concepts by doing things with materials, rather than by classroom instruction. Specialized and specified child friendly educational materials developed by Madam Montessori and her collaborators are the teaching-learning aids or inputs. Montessori education is characterized by an emphasis on independence, freedom within limits and great respect for a child’s natural psychological development, as well as technological advancement in society.
An Environment which build the foundation for learning.
It is a child-centred environment. All the materials kept in the discovery(class) room are easily accessible to every learner. The children work for the joy of working and the sense of discovery. The given environment in the class is a well designed or a ‘Prepared’ ONE. Individual learning takes place within the environment, which facilitates maximum independent learning and exploration by the child.
One of the most profound differences between Montessori education and traditional education is that in Montessori, children are given the experience of discovering the answer for themselves. This leads to a much deeper learning experience and creates a life-long love of learning as a self directed process of problem solving and discovery.
‘Help me to do myself’ is the attitude of children towards their teachers. The teacher is just a facilitator like a foster parent in the instructional environment. Parents of young children want to feel safe and secure in leaving their children in an environment that provides for all of their academic, social, physical and emotional needs.
A Montessori environment does meet all of the above needs, but it also teaches children to develop an “ I can do it “ attitude which stimulates self confidence with grit and determination that will ensure their future success in all facets of their career and life.
Besides, our vibrant teachers, will be imparting education ‘Multiple Intelligence Method’, postulated by Howard Gardner. ‘Phonic method’ of training enables the learners to improve their English language proficiency.
Our M1(Montessory-1) programmes are equivalent to Pre-KG, M2(Montessori-2) to Junior KG and M3 (Montessori-3) to Senior KG. After the successful completion of M3 , children are eligible for Grade-1 admission.
